Steps to Renew


Renewal starts on Oct. 1, 2025.

Cuando renueves tu plan de seguro de salud, podrás hacer lo siguiente:

  • Revisa y actualiza tu información de contacto y tu solicitud.

  • Compare different plans to get the best coverage for your needs and budget. All plans, from Bronze to Platinum, offer the same level of high-quality health care. The only difference is you choose the best payment option for you!

  • Find out if your costs have changed, or if you can receive financial help to lower your monthly premium. If you previously have not applied for financial help, you will be asked if you would like to see if you qualify for help. If you select “Yes” and then “Save & Continue,” you will be guided through sections of your application to provide more information.  

  • Make sure the doctors or hospitals you want are included in the plans you are comparing by using Covered California’s Shop and Compare Tool, while shopping within your application or by contacting the health insurance companies directly.

Important: If you take no action to actively renew or change plans, you will automatically be enrolled, 15 days after the date on the renewal notice you received in the mail, into the same plan you had the previous year, if available, and using the most recent household size and income information you gave us to determine the amount of financial help you may be qualified to receive.

Cómo renovar con Medi-Cal

Medi-Cal renewals can be completed online. Visit www.BenefitsCal.com to renew your Medi-Cal plan.

Si los miembros de tu hogar tienen Medi-Cal, recibirán un formulario de renovación de Medi-Cal de la agencia local de servicios humanos de su condado. Completa este formulario y envíalo por correo o fax, junto con cualquier información que solicite el condado, a tu agencia local de servicios humanos del condado. También puedes renovar visitando la agencia de servicios humanos de tu condado en persona o llamando al número de teléfono que aparece en el aviso de renovación.

If you lose Medi-Cal coverage, you may enroll in health insurance coverage through Covered California during open enrollment or special enrollment due to a loss of coverage.
